Stef Ripple

It’s Meet the Members Monday and today we can’t just introduce one of these amazing people without the other. Today we are introducing Stef’s parents Greg and Deb Petr.

These two are beyond amazing, not only did they raise the most wonderful daughters but they continue to share their love, kindness, compassion and hearts with everyone they meet.

As a new nonprofit it’s hard sometimes to know exactly what the role of the members are going to be, but when the idea of Stef Ripple became a reality it was crystal clear that these two would be an integral part of the mission. They have the best can do attitude that is definitely contagious and inspiring.

When we decided in July of 2017 to do our first Stefanie Ashdown Memorial “Do Your Best’ 5k we had doubts about whether we had enough time and resources to pull it off. Deb literally hit the ground running all over town to solicit donations and sponsors. I think I can speak for the entire community when I say we were all blown away by her determination to make it happen. We know it was difficult for her to share the story of her daughter with others but it was that love that helped her to connect with the community for their continued support of our mission.

We are currently gearing up for our 3rd annual race so be on the lookout for Deb as she hits the ground running again to make it possible for us to continue the mission of spreading awareness, hope, support and encouragement to ovarian cancer patients and their families. Her love for her daughter and her legacy is endless and a beautiful thing to watch.

If you are ever curious as to how we physically make some of these events happen, look no further than Greg. I have never met a man more willing to do anything for his family. His smile is never brighter than when he is talking about his daughters and grandchildren. A lot goes on behind the scenes to keep all the parts in motion and that is where you will find Greg. No matter what it is we need, or we forgot, or didn’t think about, we know we can call Greg and he will make it happen.

Greg is also the best proof reader and editor you will ever meet! As the Community Outreach Coordinator I write a lot of letters and social media content and the help that Greg gives to me is invaluable and so appreciated. Greg I am sorry that you aren’t able to proof this one!!!

If you are ever able to attend one of our events please take a minute to meet Greg and Deb, your time spent with them will be time well spent.

Keep the Ripple Going

Stefanie was always appreciative and the words “thank you” were frequently said by her. So, from her, and the Stef Ripple organization – “Thank you.”
