I’ve been on Taxol for 6 months and last Thursday, November 3, I found out that my doctor is switching up my treatment plan. In September, my tumor marker started to go up. This is not a good thing. Last month I met with my doctor on Thursday, October 13. On this day I found out that my tumor marker had further increased. My doctor decided that she wanted a CT scan after I was done with the current round of chemo. I finished up my sixth round of Taxol last Thursday, October 27. I had a CT scan last Thursday, November 3. The day started off with blood work bright and early. The blood work showed that my tumor marker has increased more. The scan shows that one of my masses has enlarged. Due to this and the presence of more skin lesions on my chest, we are switching to the trial drug of Trametinib. Having said this, I did get some good news. All other cancer shown on the CT is stable, including the lymph node under my left arm. I was very happy about that.
I really have been feeling pretty good lately. That has slightly decreased a bit since Thursday once I realized where the mass is and now I understand the mild discomfort I have been feeling. I am not sure when I will start Trametinib yet, but hope to get that clarified as early as tomorrow. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers. It means so much to me. – Stef
