It’s been one month since surgery – 10/14. We’ve been home from our second stay at the hospital since last Saturday. Stef was able to get home just in time to make it to Owen’s soccer game. After the game, she was able to then go to Violet’s last game of the Fall. Acadia’s final game is this upcoming Saturday where we should all be able to go.

She’s quite comfortable at home – and she’s looking very good. Great color, good energy level, positive outlook! She’s lost some weight through the last month – but let’s face it – the hospital food was real bad. She’s eating SO much better at home.

This past Wednesday we went in for an outpatient procedure where they checked the two drains we left with. One was removed, and one was slightly adjusted and we are planning on returning next Wednesday to have it removed (hopefully).

Immediately following this procedure, we wandered over to Stef’s doctor’s office for our post-op appt. We received the pathology report. There was extensive use of the word “extensive” throughout the report. The damn thing read like a CSI report. There were a lot of big scary words… I googled it all. That’s not a good thing to do. The bottom line – the cancer was pretty advanced in it’s “stage.” With the bulk of it out – we’re looking forward to starting chemo – likely the week after Thanksgiving.

The bigger line to this whole thing – we’re going to win. Despite the long road, we are absolutely going to overcome this.

Big thanks to all our friends and family who have been supporting us through this battle so far. It is MUCH appreciated 🙂
