I had my bloodwork done on Monday, February 29. It looks really good other than my tumor marker being up a little. It has shown an increase the last two blood pulls. This of course makes me feel uneasy, but the good news is it is still within normal range.

I had a CT scan on Friday, March 4. This scan was my decision. I wanted my routinely scheduled scan to be pushed up a bit to provide, at least in my mind, more of a baseline of where things stand at the start of using Femara. Plus, I was concerned about possible progression during the 4+ weeks that I was on no chemo or Femara. My nurse called me that evening and told me things are “STABLE”. I will take it! The scan didn’t tell me anything about the activity taking place in my breasts though. I have since asked Dr. Rosenshein about possibly ordering a breast MRI, but for now he is suggesting to hold steady. So, I am on Femara and will get bloodwork complete every 4 weeks.

I have proceeded with the paperwork submission to FoundationOne where they will perform testing on my tumor tissue (genomic stored tumor testing). A huge relief came when I received a call from FoundationOne telling me that it would provide 100% financial coverage on the testing!

I am going to end on that good note tonight. Thank you for the continued prayers! – Stef
